About Me
My name is Vineela Mandavilla
My Journey: From Sustainable Roots to Academic Medicine
I'm Vineela, and my journey as a future physician-educator is deeply rooted in my family's legacy as sustainable mango farmers in India. This instilled in me a fundamental belief: environmental health and human health are interconnected.
My passion for teaching quality in medicine was sparked when I witnessed the immense lack of proper resources and support for students, especially those disadvantaged both physically and mentally. I realized that too many future doctors are becoming burnt out because they have to self-study, and many students are negatively influenced by teachers who lack passion.
I've already impacted about 50+ students by tutoring diverse groups, from underrepresented Hispanic students to children with autism and disabilities, as a Kuchipudi dance instructor.
This is all part of my philosophy that healing extends beyond medicine—it includes nurturing minds through education, bodies through art, and the planet through sustainability.

My Vision
Our mission is to improve the quality of teaching in medicine and highlight the essential role of the teacher.
Strive to ensure medical school students, high school students, and anyone interested in medicine have proper resources and good teachers to succeed.

Research for Impact: Linking Science, Health, and Preservation
My research focuses on the intersection of scientific innovation and environmental preservation, directly supporting my "sustainable health" cause area.
-
Project Title: Proteomic Analysis of Rhizoplane Microbiomes as Treatments for Hydroponic Phytopathogens
-
Focus: I investigated an unknown oomycete’s ID (a microbial pathogen) using proteomics.
-
Impact: I explored biocontrol methods on the oomycete to promote disease-resistant, eco-friendly agriculture.
-
Methods: Conducted PCR of the oomycete’s DNA and a gel electrophoresis.
-
Presentation: Presented these findings at ASSIP’s convention and successfully authored a 4000+ word published research paper.
